In the midst of the 2017 season, the Sunset Key West location in Orlando was shuttered by its owners.
The building, a former warehouse, was one of several to be shuttered this offseason.
According to a spokesperson, Sunset Key was not able to pay its rent due to a foreclosure auction, so it was forced to shut down.
On Wednesday, the developer announced that it was pulling the plug on the building, which was once a restaurant and a nightclub.
Sunset Key owner Nick Lebbon told The Orlando Sentinel that Sunset Key would be shutting down at noon on Wednesday.
“I’m very sad to announce that Sunset is closing its doors.
I am deeply sorry to the residents of Sunset Key, as well as the staff, volunteers and visitors who have been with us for the past 14 years.
I also want to thank the Sunset community for all the amazing things they have done for Sunset over the years,” Lebion said.
“The Sunset Key staff, which I have known for over a decade, will be staying put for now.”
Lebbon said the developer had been working with Sunset to “keep Sunset in Orlando and ensure that the community has access to the Sunset Main Street location.”
The Sunset location has hosted parties, parties and other events for nearly four decades.
It was the site of a popular music festival, a concert by The Weeknd and the singer’s concert, and a festival in 2017, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
While the closure was bittersweet, Sunset Keys location was not the only one to close this year.
In January, the Walt Disney Co. announced that its former location in Burbank, California would close its doors for good.
That decision came after it was discovered that the building had been sold to a developer for a total of $7 million.
Disney purchased the property in November of 2017 for $3.6 million.
The closure of Sunset key in the Sunshine state is not the first time that Sunset Keys property has been sold.
A previous sale, in 2010, brought about a $10 million loss for the Sunshine Key property.
Last November, Sunset West announced that they were shutting down their Sunset Key location in North Charleston, South Carolina, and closing the doors in 2017.
Since then, the location has been closed twice.
And Sunset Key has been a venue for several events including the 2018 SXSW festival.
