A new day has dawned for Lil’ B and Big Sean, who announced they will embark on a global tour with fellow artists and brands such as Stella McCartney, Stella McCartney and Adidas in a series of concerts beginning on July 20.
On July 19, the duo will hit the road with their signature brand of Lil B, which includes the launch of the brand’s latest single, “Cabbage Key,” which was recorded last week and is set to launch on July 21.
“Cabbage key,” released in August, is the latest in a string of collaborations that began with Lil B’s debut album, “B.O.B.,” and continues with the release of the Lil B-produced remix of “Bounce Back” by the Beastie Boys.
“Caja” features Big Sean and Snoop Dogg and features an offbeat take on hip-hop.
“The song, as you can imagine, was inspired by the ’90s, when I was just growing up and I was always like, ‘Yo, this is what Lil B was doing back then.
It’s a fun, funny song, so we just wanted to do something a little different,” said Lil B. “That’s why I wrote the song ‘Caja.’
That was a fun song to write.
That’s why the beat is funky, and that’s what it is.
Thats just the way I was at that time.
So we’re just going to do a bunch of different things, and then it will all be cool.”
For his part, Septas father and co-creator of Big Sean’s music, Lil Wayne, told Rolling Stone that “Cajas” was the “first thing” he saw from his son.
“I said, ‘This is the first thing you put on your turntable.
It ain’t nothing but my little boy singing that,'” Wayne said.
“Lil B had been working on it since last year, so I just thought, ‘Oh, he got this one.’
I don’t know if you guys saw it, but he was in Los Angeles with some artists that he was working with, and he was like, “I want to do this, I want to put that on my turntables.”
He was just laying down the track.”
With a track featuring Big Sean singing about the birth of a child and his relationship with the rapper’s mother, the song was met with universal acclaim on social media.
“Baby I love you Lil B,” Snoop wrote in one Instagram post.
“My baby was born on a Sunday.
And I am proud of him.
And my mom is proud of me.”
Septas new album “Lemme See You” is set for release on June 12.
